Glo-Protect Zinc Silicate Primer 2660

Glo-Protek Zinc Silicate Primer 2660 is a two pack self-curing solvent based inorganic zinc silicate primer for use in marine and heavy industrial environments.

Typical USES

Glo-Protek HB Zinc silicate Primer 2660 is a tough abrasion resistant and heavy duty primer, offering excellent corrosion protection in highly aggressive environments.

  • Excellent water and solvent resistance
  • High substrate temperatures tolerance
  • Good resistance to saline and marine atmosphere.
  • Limitation: Not suitable for immersion in alkaline (more than pH 9) or acidic (less than pH 5) liquids without suitable top coats

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

Do not open packing until just before use. Loosen the settled material, if any, with the help of hand stirrer followed by power stirrer for quick homogeneous mixing. Add zinc dust gradually to the hydrolysate under stirring. Continue stirring until mixture is homogeneous. (Do not mix in reverse order. It may result in lump formation in the paint). Strain mixture through a 30-60 mesh screen.
Use Air Spray, Airless Spray.
Brush/Roller for small area only.

Surface Preparation

Surface coat to be dry and free from all surface contaminations. Preferably to be blast cleaned to Sa 2½ of Swedish specification. If blast cleaning is not possible, remove loose contaminations by power/hand tools.

HEALTH & SAFETY

As a general rule, avoid inhalation of solvent vapour or paint mist and contact of paint with skin and eyes. Provide forced ventilation when working with solvent born coating in confined spaces or stagnant. Skin and eye protection follow the local and national regulations.
